Finishing School is Important

financial help for single mothers trying to go back to school ?

i was wondering if there were any places that offered help to single parents of adopted children that are trying to go back to college. i work 40 hours a week right now and go to school 15 hours a week. it is killing me, but i have to work to pay the bills. i didnt know if there was anything out there that could help me so i wouldnt have to work so much and actually have time to focus on my school work and my daughter. i dont have the best credit, after my divorce. but any info would be greatly helpful to me

I was told by my university’s Financial Aid department that I will be eligible for a lot more financial assistance after having my baby in March. They instructed me to simply fill out my FAFSA as usual, including the new dependent.

The loan counselor at my bank told me that I should be eligible for a lot of grants (which don’t have to be paid back), which she assured me would basically cover my entire schooling costs. I’ve yet to look into this more as I’m not planning on returning to school until the Fall ‘09 semester, but I am somewhat skeptical as the school’s financial aid office did not mention anything of the sort to me.

Single parents: do you work and go to school as well?

How do you manage your time between family, work and homework load?. I am a student, single mother and work 48 hours a week and I can barely have time for my own homework. Free to share your experiences, thanks:)

i just got out of school.. i was working and a single mother, i cut down on some of my work, let my son"help" me with my homework, and didnt get much sleep… but now i have a license and a great new rewarding job!! keep up the good work and dont give up!!
