Finishing School is Important

Im 40 years old and want to go back to school. im confused dental hygiene which is faster or school counselor?

Im a single parent and I always wanted to do social work or school counselor but now that Im 40 and have to start from the very beginning. Im wondering if its better for me to do a dental hygiene program since i am already a dental asst. somebody share there opinion.

You will most likely need to get a masters for Social Work and School Counseling. This could take about 6 years – maybe less if you already have some college credits towards your name.

A dental hygiene program will take about 2 years – maybe less since you are a dental assistant.

So you have to decide how far you are willing to go with your education- time, money, and effort wise.

Dental Hygiene probably has more openings and probably get paid more. But, I am not totally sure what the pay is for a social worker or school counselor with a masters degree.

If you enjoy what you do, then I’d probably just go on to get the dental hygiene degree. if you are not so happy in a dental setting, then I would explore your other options.
