Single parent in Mississippi needing help for school?
My daughter is a single parent, lives alone with her baby, has a part time job, wants to go back to college, but can’t afford it. The medicaid office says she makes more than $293 a month so she doesnt qualify for medicaid. What government programs are out there to help her pay for school, daycare, medical, etc.?
I think for starters I would appeal that decision.. She should at least get in on the child.. There is a program thru DHS that pays daycare while she is in school. I did that and worked part time (school FT). she can go to fastweb.com or fill out the free FAFSA (FREE..don’t pay for it)..it will tell her if she qualifies for grants and loans.
